Vasaloppet now institutes a new tradition where artists are invited to compete in creating the yearly Vasaloppet motive. Of four invited artists, the jury's choice fell on Fredrik Lindqvist's two works which will now be the official theme motif for Vasaloppet's arrangements during 2015. At a press showing on Thursday, the art works were unveiled in the Zorn Museum.

Vasaloppets various events are more popular than ever before and the demand for start places is, in several races, very significantly greater than the supply. These new conditions set other requirements than previously and, therefore, a completely new registration procedure has been developed. This new model eliminates the seconds stress and also takes into account participants' loyalty.
Vasaloppets olika arrangemang är mer populära än någonsin och efterfrågan på startplatser är i flera lopp betydligt större än utbudet. De nya förutsättningarna ställer andra krav än tidigare och därför har ett helt nytt anmälningsförfarande tagits fram. Den nya modellen eliminerar sekundstressen och tar även hänsyn till deltagares lojalitet – allt för att göra det så rättvist som möjligt.
The enormous interest to participate in CykelVasan led Vasaloppet’s management to make an addition in 2015, and just like in the winter, it will offer an Öppet Spår race between Sälen and Mora. This indicates that, for the first time, Vasaloppet’s events for 2015 will potentially reach 100 000 registered participants.
Det enormt stora intresset för att delta i CykelVasan har fått Vasaloppets ledning att besluta om en utökning till 2015, och det blir precis som på vintern ett Öppet Spår-lopp mellan Sälen och Mora. Det innebär att Vasaloppets arrangemang 2015 för första gången kommer att kunna nå 100 000 anmälda deltagare.
The home based favorite Jonas Buud representing IFK Mora won, very convincingly, the first ever UltraVasan 90 from Sälen to Mora with the time of 6:02.03. In the ladies’ class the name of the historic first winner is Holly Rush from Great Britain, 7:09.04.

The elite runners have now arrived in Mora and Sälen from all over the world to participate in history’s first UltraVasan, which is, even though a premier year, the largest ultra-race in Sweden – and in addition it has the strongest International starting field. Below, Race Director Peter Fredricson, informs us how he thinks the race will develop and which racers will battle for the victory.
