Many international participants in Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2020
On Tuesday (2020-02-18), at midnight, online registration closes for Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2020. After that you can register on location, right up until the start. Here Vasaloppet will present some interesting statistics from the current registration numbers for Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2020.
Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2020 has eleven different races, just like last year. Preliminary numbers show that exactly half (50 percent) of the now over 57,000 registrants intend to ski the whole distance from Sälen to Mora; in other words they've registered for Vasaloppet, Öppet Spår Sunday, Öppet Spår Monday or Nattvasan 90. 50 percent are registered for the shorter races.
Participant age ranges from 7 to 91 years old. The average age is 42.6 years. 64 percent are men and 36 percent women. (More gender statistics can be found further down.)
55 percent of registrants have started in a Vasaloppet Winter Week race before, making 45 percent of this year's registered participants debutants "in forefathers' tracks". But there are those who are extremely experienced: About 400 registrants are Vasaloppet Veterans, meaning that they've skied Vasaloppet and/or Öppet Spår for at least 30 years.
So far about 500 registrants intend to take on Vasaloppstrippeln this year, which means skiing a Winter Week race and cycling and running Summer Week races of the same distance in Vasaloppet's Summer Week this August. Vasaloppstrippeln has three distances to choose from: 30, 45 and 90 km.

Vasaloppet's Winter Week with its cross-country skiing and Summer Week with mountain biking and running attract a total of almost 100,000 registered participants every year. Since the beginning in 1922 over 1.5 million participants have passed the finish line portal in Mora. Vasaloppet is a non-profit making organization owned by IFK Mora and Sälens IF.
