Great interest in Vasaloppet's 100th anniversary – Vasaloppet 2022 is fully booked

Registration for Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2022 and the 100th anniversary opened yesterday, Sunday March 21th, morning. Vasaloppet, held on Sunday, March 6th next year, is now fully booked and over 28,000 participants have already registered for one of the Winter Week 2022 races.

Registration opened for Vasaloppet on Sunday morning at 09:00 and for other Winter Week 2022 races at 10:00. The 15,800 start places in Vasaoppet were filled this morning and over 28,000 had registered for a Winter Week 2022 race before noon.
"Of course it's fantastic that so many have already decided to celebrate with us next year and ski a race in the Vasaloppet Arena. We hope and intend to go back to our standard events and we wish everyone interested a warm welcome," says Johan Eriksson, CEO of Vasaloppet.

A week and a half ago, several pieces of news were presented for next year's winter when Vasaloppet turns 100. Among other things, freestyle skiing will now be allowed in Öppet Spår Monday, meaning that participants can choose between classic or skate style. In Nattvasan 45 and Nattvasan 90, the rules are changed so the races can be completed either individually or in pairs. The Nattvasan family also gets an addition with the new race Nattvasan 30.

Many have already jumped at the news but with the exception of the fully-booked Vasaloppet 2022, there are plenty of start places available.
"We've barely had time to remove the fences and signs from Vasaåket but plans for the ten-day ski fest of our 100th anniversary celebration next year are already underway and our participants seem as excited as us which is, of course, incredibly inspiring. We have more races than ever with varying distances to choose from and we hope that even more people will take this opportunity to come celebrate with us," says Johan Eriksson.

Tue 1 Mar: Vasaloppet 45, 45 km, start Oxberg
Fri 4 Mar: Stafettvasan, 9–24 km, 90 km relay for 5-person teams, start Sälen
Fri 4 Mar: Nattvasan 90, 90 km, Freestyle, individually or in two-person teams, start Sälen
Fri 4 Mar: Nattvasan 45, 45 km, Freestyle, individually or in two-person teams, start Oxberg
Fri 4 Mar: Nattvasan 30, 30 km, Freestyle, individually or in two-person teams, start Oxberg
