Four countries to broadcast Cykelvasan 90 live in 2025

For the fourth consecutive year, Sveriges Television will live broadcast the Nordic region’s largest mountain bike race, Cykelvasan 90, which takes place on Saturday, August 9, this year. As always, the race attracts a strong elite field as well as thousands of recreational cyclists. Cykelvasan 90 will also be broadcast live in Denmark, Norway, and Finland.

Sofian Aliouate, project manager at Sveriges Television for the 2025 Cykelvasan broadcast, comments:

SVT will broadcast Cykelvasan 90 on Saturday, August 9, from 07:50 to 12:00 on SVT1. The commentary team will include Björn Becksmo and expert Emil Lindgren, who won Cykelvasan 90 in 2019 and 2022.

In Finland, Ilta-Sanomat TV will broadcast the race; in Denmark, Sport Live will air the event (they also broadcast Vasaloppet in March); and in Norway, Warner Bros. Discovery will broadcast the race in HBO Max and Rex.

"The Norwegian cyclists have made a strong impression on Sweden in the past, with victories in 2021 and 2023, and podium finishes in 2024. So it will be especially exciting to highlight and follow new opportunities for the Norwegian cycling audience," says Hanif Hoseini, sports director at Warner Bros. Discovery in Norway.

Vasaloppet’s own streaming service, Vasaloppet.TV, will cover all races during Vasaloppet’s events.

Currently, over 13,000 cyclists are registered across the various Cykelvasan distances for 2025, but there are still places available in all races. Registration is open at vasaloppet.se.

FACTS/ What's new in 2025:
- Start times have changed: the women’s elite will now start at 08:00 (same as Vasaloppet in the winter). The men will start at 09:00. - The first starting hill will have a smoother surface to allow for two or three good tracks side by side all the way to the highest point. This is intended to ensure a fairer race start.
- Cykelvasan 90 is one kilometre shorter this year: 95 km instead of 96 km, as the course now goes straight through at the Risberg checkpoint.
